Stairwell

Today's photo is of an old stone stairwell at Yorkminster in York, UK. These things tend to very get narrow in spots -- I often wonder what happened if someone happened to be walking up the stairs at the same time that someone else was walking down. Was there an awkward sideways monk-shuffle?

Fall color

The many colors of a Vermont October. Many thanks to my buddy Josh (who's also a photographer) for putting me up for a week and driving me all over the state -- I saw more colorful trees in the span of a week than I'd seen in all the rest of my life. Click to enlarge.

Sailboats at dawn

I shot this with my buddy Josh in upstate New York (Lake Champlain), just after taking over the ferry from Vermont. Click to enlarge.

Lake Clouds

Some interesting clouds hovering over a lake in upstate New York. Me and Josh came across this scene at sunrise after the ferry crossing from Vermont. Click to enlarge.

Various views of the capitol

Today's photos are several distant shots of the Nebraska State Capitol Building shot last winter. A couple are from the highway 77 overpass (we must have driven over that thing a dozen times to get the shot -- there is nowhere to safely stand on the bridge and film), and the other is from Pioneers Park. Cranemania!

Today's photos are from a photo safari in eastern Nebraska (between Omaha and Lincoln, off I-80.) About as close as I'd ever gotten to a crane; these critters are less afraid of people on the safari, I guess. Beautiful birds. Click to enlarge.

Typical Vermont

Rumor has it that in Vermont, people don't build churches -- the churches just naturally spring up from the ground wherever a colorful forest can be found. Click to enlarge.
