Yep it's the longest underground in the world, 243 miles (408 km), and just about everyone I know who lives in London doesn't own a car.
Too right- I've been here in London for a long time now, and just use my bike to get me everywhere.
The tube is ace when you are drunk, but aside from that it is smelly, expensive, crowded and late.
