Trail Ridge Road
If you ever find yourself out the Colorado way, make sure you take a trip up along Trail Ridge Road -- the highest continuous road in North America. Most of it is above 10,000 feet, and it peaks out at around 12,600. And the views... oh my, does it have nice views. :)

Revisiting HDR 2
This is another HDR photo that I'm revisiting and having another go at with a different algorithm. The previous image was created with Photoshop CS3. Which do you like more? The new one or the old one?
Old one:
New One:
My fear is that the new version might be picking up a bit too much contrast in the sky. I tend not to like "garish" overblown HDR shots.

Revisiting an old HDR
I've been going back and rejiggering some old HDR shots with a different algorithm to see how they come out. The original HDR of this shot (done with Adobe CS3, I think) below the new one. Which do you think is better -- old or new?

Bigstormpicture.com
I've been giving out a bunch of business cards which list this blog -- and most of the people I've been giving them to are looking for Vortex 2 shots. For the Vortex 2 stuff, go to:

Church in Vermont
Finally getting back to updating my blogs -- I've been a busy bee lately! :) Today's shot is from Vermont. Nothing says New England quite like an old church set against the changing foliage of fall. Click to enlarge.

Candids from New York
Some of these were probably posted before -- I've been going through my old Flickr collection and refreshing photos with larger images. These were missing -- and if it's missing from Flickr, it's usually missing from here. Click any photo to enlarge. (Yes, that's Samuel L. Jackson. You never know who you'll run into in New York.)

You are NOT going to steal this car!
Saw this pooch while we stopped for gas in the Adirondacks of New York. He literally NEVER took his eyes off me -- never barked at me, either. Just gave me the "don't even THINK about it" stare.

Last of the D.C. shots
Here's the last of the straggler shots from Washington, D.C. All these images remind me that I need to get out and shoot some more candids. It's a lot harder to get good candids in Lincoln, Nebraska (people tend to notice the camera), but you gotta work with what you got. :)
More D.C.
There are from all over the place -- the Supreme Court, the Museum of American Indian Art -- and a couple from the National Mall. Click to enlarge.

Almost done with D.C. Stragglers!
...and apparently, I've posted some of these before, since a couple of you remember them. :) All of today's photos were shot at the United States Supreme Court. Click any photo to enlarge.

Chase report link -- and some more shots from D.C.
First off -- here's a link to my latest chase report. I went chasing on March 23rd through southeastern Nebraska and southwestern Iowa; it was a bit more of a trip than I'd bargained for.
Below are some more D.C. shots from a couple years ago.

More D.C.
Getting ready for the first chase of the year tomorrow! Hooray! Here are few more D.C. shots that I found while doing some Flickr maintenance. Click to enlarge.
Some old Washington shots
Was doing some Flickr maintenance today and I noticed a bunch of old Washington D.C shots that I'd forgotten about! Click to enlarge.

Near Lake Placid
Shot near Lake Placid in the Adirondacks of New York. Even on mostly overcast days, everything seems photogenic in the Northeast in October. Click to enlarge.

Cliche Adirondack stream
A rocky stream in the Adirondacks of New York. A bit of a cliche mountain shot, but the Adirondacks are literally chock full of shots like this. :) Click to enlarge.

Sugarbush Farms Chapel
Today's photo is from the Sugarbush Farms chapel in Woodstock, Vermont. This chapel is a bit enigmatic -- it's not the kind of thing you'd expect in the middle of a wood. If you're in to very small, romantic weddings, they do rent the chapel out. Click to enlarge.
