Flinstones, Meet the Flinstones

Today's photo is a collateral candid shot I got while looking for people on cellphones at UNL. I wasn't aware that UNL students participated in dunebuggy races, but I can't say it doesn't sound like fun. :) Click to enlarge.

I can neither confirm or deny the existence of an incorrect spelling in the title. ;)

For what it's worth, that looks like an entry in a contest called "Mini Baja"; my dad was a faculty advisor for the Virginia Tech team many years ago. It's a pretty nifty contest; the vehicles are entirely student-designed and constructed, except for the engines (which are standard 8hp Briggs and Stratton, unless they've changed the specs since then -- not much for a dune buggy, but the students get quite a lot of fun out of them).

Too bad Nebraska is competing in the Midwest division rather than the East; in the East, the cars also have to be amphibious.

(I bet the team would love to have a copy of that photo, too.)
