Abstract

Today's pic of the day is an abstract of a pier in San Francisco. I took this while waiting for a ferry.

Geeze, I hope so! Looking at the 0Z NAM, with the triplepoint just to the SE of me at 18Z, that'd be nice. Nebraska looks like a pretty good target Thursday now, better than Kansas, anyway. The 0Z knocked the 850 jet down a bit for this area because it shifted the low to the southwest, but it's still a pretty nice setup. It might be a tough choice between the dryline and the cold-core setup if the 0Z pans out. Same as last week, actually. (Last week I ended up picking the triplepoint, as the dryline had already popped into a squall line).

I'll probably chase this Thursday. Dunno if you'll be out there too, but it might be worth it. If the models keep shifting as they do, I might be in your neck of the woods. Only issue is that the storms will really be cooking along. Last Thursday was my first ever "try to catch the 50mph storms" chase, and it's not so fun. You end up biting your nails hoping you don't get cored as you get into position, and then you have like ten minutes to watch it go tearing by.

Check that -- meant to say "just to the SW of me"
